MSNBC Calls Jack Thompson Out

For once, mainstream media is actually defending video games! MSNBC has a well-written piece about how people like Jack Thompson jumped the gun and put the blame for the Virginia Tech shootings on video games.

The article even talks about how Thompson blames every school shooting (and some non-school shootings) on video games but the University of Texas shootings took place in 1966.

Even more crazily, MSNBC points out that games like Counter-Strike promote communication and team work.

From my personal opinion, a game like Counter-Strike would not train someone how to massacre innocents. It's been a while since I played it, but it's more like buying gear, planting bombs, defusing bombs, etc. (Or in my case, running around and getting shot in the head.)

Best part of the article is how it mentions that violence has actually decreased with this burst of video game sales. If I were playing Jack Thompson in Halo, this would be the part that I teabag him.

Also check out Kotaku. Someone actually dissected his lies and breaks down each comment from the crap that flows from Jack Thompson's mouth.

Related to that story—Jack respond's by sending a fax to the FBI because of someone's comment posted to that story.

See it here: Thompson Calls FBI Investigation.

Is this guy an idiot or what?
