Halo 3 Has Gone Golden

Halo 3 Goes Gold
With only 27 days until the official release, Halo 3 officially went gold today. You hear that sound? That's millions of fans crying with relief and joy. Xbox.com announced the news today.

"This is the game we've always wanted to make and certainly the best game our studio has developed. We can't wait for gamers to get their hands on it on September 25." said Harold Ryan, Studio Head at Bungie Studios.

I've been watching a ton of leaked footage and it's been very impressive. Everything from the flamethrower to forge to the new vehicles, like Hornet and Elephant. Thanks to the leaks there are less speculations flying around and this should reduce the over hype that happened with Halo 2 (where's my boat fights?)

One cool theory that's been going around is that there will be two campaigns. One you play as the Master Chief and the other that you play through as the Arbiter. This came about due to the secret achievements list for Halo 3. We shall see in 27 days.

Somewhere in the post you should have explained what "Gone Golden" actually means. Because if you're talking about the prorders passing the 1-million mark, there is an article that says that published August 9, 2007 on the page. Today is not August 9th, that's why I'm confused by this post - and the similar post I saw on some other websites.

Actually, Josh and I were talking about this on the phone earlier tonight because I only learned what "gone golden" meant this summer in the gaming industry.

When games are being made, "going gold" doesn't actually have to do with sales or preorder. "Going gold" means the game is ready and has been shipped to the factories to make the final copies of the game that will sell in the stores.

Jeff,

What's BooYeah? Did you mean Boo Ya or as I call it Boo Yaka?

Andy is correct. Bungie has rendered out their final version, it has passed certification and it is now on it's way to the factories to be pressed into cartridges, I mean DVDs. So we should be seeing some leaks in the next couple of weeks and people spoiling what happens in the game, like the MC dies at the end.
