Bungie Announces Halo 3 DLC

Starting December 11th, you can download the first DLC for Halo 3: a map pack of three new multiplayer maps for 800 Microsoft Points($10).

The first map is called Standoff. It is described as a two base map with some vehicles and turrets.

The second map is named Rat's Nest. It was inspired by the campaign level Crow's Nest and is a primarily indoor map. There are vehicles on the map but expect some tight spaces as well. Ideal for 6-16 players and should be added into the Big Team Battle games.

And the last map is Foundry. Developers expect gamers to have a lot of fun with how much you can change this map in Forge. This level was inspired by the campaign level where you fight the Flood in the warehouse(the level where you should definitely NOT kill the wounded Marines, Josh). Developers say this is a good map for 4-12 players.

Why should I have to pay for something that should have come with my $60 game? And why are the games $60? I really don't think their could be much of a difference between the development costs for 360/PS3 games and Wii/PS2 games.

You don't even have Halo 3! Stop the hate!

Some development executives have been saying lately that the pricing for the games is too high and the public won't put up with it for too much longer. We'll see.

(And you used their instead of there. Shame.)

Your a jerk. (see what I did there?) Besides, the only reason people pay for the maps is because they don't want to wait a few months for them to be free and be behind their online nerd friends who will have already memorized everything.

holy crap me and eric agree on something. i'm not paying $10 for maps that should be on the dollar menu. i've got plenty of games to keep me busy till then. andy you shouldn't support this crap either.

I'm agreeing - $10 is too much for 3 maps. I'll be waiting for them to be free.

I just think it's funny that Josh is against the map pack because he was always on my case when I refused to buy the Legendary Edition(which he bought).

I haven't actually decided if I'll buy them yet, but I waste money all the time so it wouldn't be a big change. (Also, we might need the new maps for our machinima!)
