Saints Row 2 Delayed

THQ has confirmed that Saints Row 2 will be dealyed until October 14th. The original release date was August 24th.

THQ said "marketing and issues and product quality" are the reasons behind the decision.

Sounds good to me. I really enjoyed the way Saints Row took the good parts of GTA and made them better. I did have a lot of bug problems, so if they are fixing those then I'm glad it's delayed. Nothing pissed me off more than driving along and then getting stuck in a building because the Xbox didn't draw it there fast enough.

I imagine GTA IV's success is playing a small role in this as well. I hope SR2 really ups the game, like they did with their first release.

I'm sad of the delay. I am really looking forward to playing the game. I think I actually like the Saints Row franchise more than GTA. Yeah, I said it.

I just read an article where a gaming analyst believes these delays are so that THQ and Volition can work on improving their co-op. Since Saints Row 2 is supposed to have jump in, jump out co-op available during the actual campaign, I belive this is a good move. I love jump in, jump out co-op on campaigns!

I wish they would have delayed SR1 so that I could have enjoyed multiplayer.

I bet it got delayed because it's on the PS3 this time. Zing. I love having the better system that's harder to develop for.
