Jacksonville, FL Makes the Gaming News

Jacksonville, FL(our home base) made the gaming news again today so I had to post about it. Even though it's pretty gay.

A Jacksonville, FL man bought his girlfriend an Xbox 360 and Viva Pinata with the simple plan of getting her addicted to the game and therefore the system. It worked, and she loved the game.

So then he decides to propose to her and does it by sending her a diamond his miner dug up with a note asking him to marry her. They were playing in the same room on two different systems. It's Viva Pinata DS Style

Rare has confirmed that it's coming out with a Viva Pinata for the Nintendo DS and that it will play more along the lines of the original 360 garden creation game instead of the upcoming mini-game collection game, Viva Pinata: Party Animals.

Tending to your garden and interacting with the characters will be done through the DS touchscreen. Rare is saying that "it's the same game". According to a Rare Employee on their forums, the game won't have the same 360 graphics, but the DS team has gotten "most of the features from the original into the DS version".

It will be created by the same team as the 360 version and the graphics will be "beautiful" and the game will be coming soon. No word yet on if you'll be able to mail friends items through Wi-Fi, but I imagine they would set that up like they do for Animal crossing's mail system.

Viva Pinata for young girls?

At least, according to Bill Gates it is.

I don't know yet, but I've heard good things about the game, including that it's addicting. I'll find out tomorrow. I borrowed the game from Josh. I'm restraining myself from playing it until tomorrow because I want the achievement points to count towards the Microsoft/Old Spice Rewards Challenge. (Editor: We talk about the Rewards Challenge in Podcast 2)

I am some kind of Pinata!
